A volte, percorrendo il Levante della Liguria (e in alcune foto, sullo sfondo, passa l'Alta Via dei Monti Liguri), si arriva in posti particolari come un piccolissimo e semplice cimitero abbandonato, con una storia molto interessante. Siamo nei pressi di Favale di Malvaro e qui potete conoscere la storia travagliata della famiglia dei Cereghino, contadini e cantastorie della seconda metà del 1800 e dei problemi che ebbero con la comunità cattolica di Favale di Malvaro. Il luogo ha consegnato questa famiglia alla storia anche perchè narra dell'amore tra Giuseppe Cereghino e Caterina Costa. Siccome non volevano seguire la fede cattolica il parroco di allora Don Cristoforo Repetti non volle sposarli ed essendo andati a vivere insieme agì in modo da farli imprigionare a Chiavari per condotta immorale e cospirazione religiosa. Oggi sembra paradossale ma i tempi erano quelli. Furono però liberati poco dopo ma questo fatto fu però fatale a Giuseppe che mori dopo pochi mesi. Conosciuti con il soprannome di "Scialìn" i Cereghino in inverno emigravano verso il Piemonte e la Lombardia. In uno dei loro viaggi arrivarono a Torre Pellice dove iniziarono ad appassionarsi a quello che predicava la comunità Valdese. Tornati a Favale costruirono così una chiesa (oggiproprietà privata) dove Stefano Cereghino venne nominato pastore e arrivando ad avere fino a oltre 110 fedeli. Le loro canzoni furono soperte dai musicisti de "Il Gruppo" e suonate anche da "La Rionda" con Max Manfredi. Il posto merita la visita anche perchè la località è nella bella valle di Malvaro in Fontanabuona con il monte Pagliaro, i torrenti Arena e Castello, e il monte Ramaceto sull'Alta Via dei Monti Liguri. Se ci andate fatelo con il dovuto rispetto dovuto a questi luoghi. A Favale è stata posata, nel gennaio del 2014, una targa ricordo come simbolo di “riappacificazione”. WALDENSIANS CEMETERY of CEREGHINO Family
Sometimes, along the Eastern Liguria, we arrive at a particular location such as a very small and simple abandoned cemetery, with a very interesting history. We are near Favale di Malvaro and you can now know the troubled history of the family of Cereghino, peasants but also and storytellers of the second half of 1800 and the problems they had with the Catholic community of Favale di Malvaro. The place has handed down in history because tells of the love between Joseph Cereghino and Catherine Costa. Since they do not want to follow the Catholic faith, then the parish priest Don Christopher Repetti, did not marry them and, as they start to live together, he act to have them in prison in Chiavari for immoral conduct and religious conspiracy.
